Microscopic urinalysis refers to the analysis of urine under the microscope. It requires a simple light microscope and is done in laboratories by trained technicians and sometimes by physicians. The results from microscopic urinalysis are generally more quantitative in terms of white blood cells or red blood cells in the urine, the presence of bacteria in the urine , and the amount of cellular debris in the urine.
