l was washing my clothes when l was stung by brown scorpion. The sting site was at my left finger. Within few seconds pain radiates to all over my hand. I call my wife immediately. She came out and drove me to the hospital where the doctor administered plain lidocaine injection to around the stung site to block the pain receptors.

Arizona poison control was extremely helpful. There's a lot of misinformation on the web. I would suggest calling your local poison control first. Don't put baking soda on the scorpion sting. At best it won't do anything or it could cause the pain to worsen, which happened in our case.

I have been stung by a scorpion about 3 inches long and its color is black...what I did is I rushed to the hospital and told that I've been stung by a scorpion and they have given me maybe an anti-venin and after 1 day the numbness that I feel is gone.

I was stung at work last night on the thumb here in Arizona, and ended up in the ER two hours later with blurred eye sight, and numbing pain all the way up my arm. I could barely walk to the bathroom. They gave me Valium and Percocet for pain, but no anti venom. They said if I was a kid I would have gotten it for sure. It was a bad experience, and I am now at home resting. if you see one of those little suckers definitely kill it. :)

I just got stung a few hours ago. I live in Arizona, and my house is next to acres of desert. Take a black light around our yard any given night, and you will find anywhere between 20-30 scorpions. All I did was take some ibuprofen (for pain) and Benadryl (to prevent an allergic reaction. Just remember to be careful, monitor yourself, and make sure to get emergency care if things get too bad.

I was stung repeatedly, more than a dozen times in one instance, by scorpions in Vietnam during the war. The stings were on my ankles and knees. The pain was excruciating. I was given industrial strength Darvon and Benadryl, and that helped.

I live in northeast Texas. I have been stung twice by a scorpion. The first time just extreme pain and the area was very sensitive to touch and a little dizziness. This lasted for about eight hours. This past time the sting was on my foot. I still had the extreme pain, but this time I had developed a thick tongue and a metallic taste in my mouth. From the research I have been able to find this is an allergic reaction and each time can get worse.

I have just been bitten by a light brown scorpion, less than thirty minutes ago! I'm in Shoshong, Central District, Botswana. It bit me on the thigh, ring and middle fingers! The thigh n middle finger r just itchy but the ring finger is on fire! It is stiff with extreme pain n has started perspiring around the stung area! I called my nurse friend n she advised that I take promethazine which I did hoping that the pain will subside. I'm also using an ice pack to stop the swelling. I've always loved scorpions because I'm a Scorpio but right now, I'm so not sure!

A baking soda paste will pull the venom out if applied to the affected area.

We live in Central Texas in areas with lots of scorpions. My wife, daughter and I have all been stung multiple times. Though it is very painful, Benadryl Gel quickly diminishes the pain and slight swelling. None of us have allergic reactions, thankfully. My wife was stung multiple times in the garden by baby scorpions and that was pretty painful, but had no long term adverse effects. I hate scorpions!
