Sea Cucumber Irritation Treatment
- Rinse the affected area with seawater. Avoid fresh water because it increases pain.
- Avoid rubbing the area and do not apply ice to it.
- Apply topical acetic acid (vinegar) or isopropyl alcohol to the area until pain is relieved.
- If eyes are exposed, rinse with 1-2 gallons of fresh water.
- Pain may be relieved with 1-2 acetaminophen (Tylenol) every 4 hours and/or 1-2 ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil) every 6-8 hours.
