Picture of Brain Layers
The brain is the organ that is located within the skull that receives information, processes it, and then sends signals to the rest of the body. The brain is comprised of the cerebrum (which is divided into 4 lobes), the cerebellum, and the brain stem. The brain is covered by a layer of membranes known as the meninges, which are shown in this illustration outlining the different layers that comprise the brain.
