Picture of Hip Fracture
Hip fractures are bone breaks in the upper quarter of the femur, the long bone of the upper leg. Hip fractures may result after a fall or due to minor accidents when osteoporosis is present. Osteoporosis also may impair the ability of bone to heal after a break.
