Braces (orthodontic appliances) help move the teeth into a better alignment to improve the bite and smile aesthetics. Braces brackets may be made of metal or another material that may be multi-colored, clear, or tooth-colored. Braces may be attached behind the teeth so they are not visible. So-called invisible braces are made from a series of clear, plastic molds that move the teeth into a better alignment sequentially over time.
