I developed a sharp pain in my left side and it radiated down to my pubic area. When I went to washroom I found it difficult/painful to urinate. When I finally did go it was scary for me. The water was a brownish/pinkish color. I went to the emergency room and they did urine sample and blood test, then x-ray. They told me I had kidney stones which had caused the hematuria. I was hooked up to IV overnight and given some pain medications. The pain was so bad I thought I might die, even started to throw up and could not get comfortable in the bed. The next step is ESWL (extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy) and stent put in, hope this works. Fingers crossed..
