While pulling weeds in a flower bed I was struck by a copperhead snake. Severe pain ensued immediately. Finger turned black and blue within seconds. Five minutes after being bit I was on my way to the emergency room. Four days later and 1 surgery on the hand, I was released. A month has passed since the day of the bite but the finger is still in real bad shape. I was referred to a wound clinic for treatment. Of course after a month it is still very sore.
