I was prescribed atorvastatin 40 mg for controlling my cholesterol. Almost immediately, in 49 hours, I began with pain and immobility in my left shoulder. I suffered a general malaise, weakness and mild headache. Other symptoms followed rapidly, such as heavy fatigue, loss of libido, dark brown urine and bowel malfunction. Within two weeks I felt like a frail old man. It was dreadful. I had previously been fit and strong all my life with a very high activity rate. I stopped taking statins and some things improved. My arm remains almost useless!

I’m taking simvastatin to control my cholesterol. I’m also taking donepezil. I have been having nightmares since taking these 2 medications. I wonder if this is a side effect or what!
